Workspace Overview

Prev Next

An Autify Nexus workspace is an environment where test resources are stored. Depending on your plan, Autify Nexus allows you to access multiple workspaces, such as a local workspace that represents the computer where Autify Nexus is running or a remote workspace that can be accessed and used by multiple people.

The available workspace types and the number of remote workspaces depend on your contract.

If you would like to add a remote workspace, please contact Customer Support.

Local Workspace

In a local workspace, all test resources, including the browser used to run the tests, are stored and accessed directly on the computer where Autify Nexus is running. If you are running Autify Nexus on your computer, test executions and scenario modifications will take place solely on your computer.

Remote Workspace

In an organization's remote workspace, all test resources are stored on a server and shared with other members of the team or organization. While it is possible to run tests locally on the machine where Autify Nexus is running, you can also run tests in a cloud environment hosted by Autify. Making any changes in a remote workspace affects all users within the organization. When tests are executed in the cloud environment, all users in the organization can access the test results.

Switching Between Workspaces

If you have a contract for multiple workspaces — such as multiple remote workspaces or a combination of both local and remote workspaces — you can switch between them using the workspace switcher located in the top-left corner of the window.

If the workspace switcher is not displayed, your contract includes only a single remote workspace or a single local workspace. Please check your contract details to confirm which one applies to you.

In addition to the workspace switcher icon and label, Autify Nexus displays a banner at the top of the application window to notify you that you are operating within a remote workspace.

Copying Scenarios Between Workspaces

It is possible to copy scenarios between local and remote workspaces.

Please check "How to copy a scenario between workspaces."

Workspace Access Permission Settings

It is possible to configure the workspaces that a user can access in the Workspace section of the user profile edit screen. Please check “Managing user accounts.

* Organization administrators can access all workspaces.
