Workspaces

A workspace in Autify Nexus is the context in which test resources are stored. Depending on your plan, you can access multiple workspaces in Autify Nexus — a local workspace representing the computer running Autify Nexus, or a shared workspace that multiple people can connect to and use together.

Local Workspace

The default workspace for Autify Nexus is the local workspace. All resources for tests are stored and accessed directly on the computer running Autify Nexus, including browsers used for test execution. If you are running Autify Nexus on your computer, this means that any tests that are run or changes made to scenarios will only happen on your computer.

Shared workspace

On your organization’s shared workspace, all resources for tests are stored in a server and shared with other members of your team or organization. You can still execute tests locally on the machine running Autify Nexus, but you can also execute tests in a cloud environment hosted by Autify. If you make changes to anything in the remote workspace, all users in your organization will be impacted. If you run tests in the cloud environment, all users in your organization will be able to access the test results.

Switching between workspaces

If your plan includes remote workspaces, you can switch between your local and remote workspaces using the workspace switcher located at the top-left of the window.

In addition to the icon and label of the workspace switcher, Autify Nexus will also display a banner at the top of the application window to let you know when you are performing operations in a shared workspace.

Transferring scenarios between workspaces

You can transfer your scenarios between local and remote workspaces by importing and exporting them across workspaces.
