Autify Nexus supports Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge for both recording and test execution. The following issues may occur if a supported browser is not properly installed or configured.

Error: “Chromium distribution ‘msedge’ is not found”

Autify Nexus cannot find or launch Microsoft Edge on the current computer.

Resolution

Check if Microsoft Edge is installed on your device. If it is not installed, download and install it from: https://www.microsoft.com/edge.

Error: “Could not start recording. Please ensure the Microsoft Edge web browser is installed on your computer”

Autify Nexus cannot find or access Microsoft Edge.

Resolution

Check if Microsoft Edge is installed on your device. If it is not installed, download and install it from: https://www.microsoft.com/edge.

Make sure that the computer running Autify Nexus has permission to open Microsoft Edge.

Error: “Could not start recording. Please ensure ‘Browser name‘ is installed on your computer”

Resolution

If errors occur even though the browser is installed, interference from security software may be the cause.

Please try the following steps.

Change Advanced Settings

Security software or specific environment settings may be blocking Autify Nexus from launching the browser. Changing specific flags in the Autify Nexus settings may resolve the issue.

Steps:

1. Click "Settings (gear icon)" at the bottom left of Autify Nexus.

2. Please try toggling the following options on/off in the "Advanced settings" of "Recording and local run settings" section.

Disable the --disable-extensions argument

Disable the --no-startup-window argument

3. After changing the settings, please check if you can start recording again.
