Unexpected prompt when launching Autify Nexus for the first time

When launching Autify Nexus for the first time on your own computer, you may receive a prompt or warning about opening the application. These messages depend on the operating system that you are using.

macOS

When you open Autify Nexus for the first time on macOS, you might see a security prompt: "Autify Nexus is an app downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?" This is a standard macOS security warning used to confirm whether you trust the app you are downloading. In such a case, please click Open to continue to the application.

Windows 10/11

On Windows, when you run the installer or executable file for the first time, you may see the following User Account Control (UAC) prompt: “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” This is a normal security feature to confirm that you trust the app. Click Yes to proceed.

Autify Nexus has stalled or become unresponsive

There may be some instances where Autify Nexus becomes unresponsive. This can be for a multitude of reasons. These are the ways you can reset the application for each of the supported operating systems.

If it happens repeatedly, contact support and include information about what you were trying to do when the issue occurred.

macOS

If the app becomes unresponsive or stuck while loading or running a test on macOS, perform the following:

  • From the macOS menu bar, choose Autify Nexus > Quit Autify Nexus

  • Reopen the app and repeat the action

Windows 10/11

If Autify Nexus becomes unresponsive or appears to be stuck (for example, frozen during test execution or loading), you can force the application to close using the Task Manager.

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager.

Alternatively, you can right-click the Start button and select Task Manager from the menu.

  2. In the Processes tab, locate Autify Nexus under the list of running apps.

  3. Click on Autify Nexus to highlight it.

  4. Click the End task button in the bottom-right corner of the window.

  5. Wait a few seconds, then relaunch the app.

Recording or test execution is abnormally slow

Make sure that the computer running Autify Nexus meets our minimum hardware requirements and preferably our recommended specifications.

Even if those specifications are met, you may still encounter performance issues in Autify Nexus if your website is complex or requires a large amount of resources to run. On the computer running Autify Nexus, try opening your website in Google Chrome and confirm that it can be opened and navigated smoothly. If it cannot, consider running Autify Nexus on more powerful hardware.
